ips for Decluttering Your Home Garage
With many of us staying home as much as possible during the COVID-19 outbreak, we aren’t going out into the garage very often. Lately, our interaction with our home garage has been opening the kitchen door and chucking out the boxes from all our Amazon orders. And lately, we have been noticing the big pileup and overall clutter in general. Since we are still at home, now is a great time to do some serious decluttering! But where do we start?!?!
Get Rid of the Amazon Boxes
While it doesn’t hurt to keep a couple of the really nice ones for future holiday gifts, take a box cutter or pocketknife and collapse those Amazon boxes and send them out for recycling!
Turn in Those Aluminum Cans
If you love beverages that come in aluminum cans, take them to a local recycling center and earn a little money! In addition to a few extra bucks and knowing that you are helping keep the Earth clean, you will love how much extra space you have in your garage. In the future, keep your devoted space to aluminum cans concise by installing a wall-mounted can crusher and using a recycling bin.
Get Rid of Anything That Does Not Bring You Joy
Extra space is a premium in Long Island homes, so feel free to trash the creepy garden gnome and tacky plastic flamingoes that were given as housewarming gifts (when you would have preferred a house plant or bottle of wine)! Thank them for their service never look back! Store garden tools and meaningful décor in their place.
Utilize Hooks on the Walls and Ceiling
It is surprising how much more organized your garage looks when you hang tools on the walls or use specialty racks for bikes, kayaks, or canoes that hang from the ceiling!
